Short on time, but big on style. That’s the conundrum you face–every single day. Luckily there are some styles that let you amp up your look in 15 minutes or less. And since we’re all about efficiency and punctuality, we’d argue that these hairdos are ideal for achieving smashing results and allowing you to get to work with enough time to prep for that AM meeting.
Top Bun: Smooth your hair with a dime-size amount of SLiQWd and pull into a pony at the crown of your head. Gently twist the hair so the bun will be “full.” Next, wrap the hair around the elastic and secure with bobby pins. Spray some Professional Working Spray and you’re good to go.
The Messy Side Braid: Spray a little LiQWd Volumizing Catalyst on your locks before you blow dry. Once the hair is dry, create a deep side part and set out a few face framing bits. Take the remaining tresses and braid at an angle, starting at the nape of the next and moving from one side to the other. Tease (or curl) those lose pieces in the front for the tousled effect. Lastly, gently loosen the braid with your fingers.
The (Glam) Pony: Pull your hair into a slick pony (secure with an elastic that’s the same color as your hair). Use a bit of Longevity Serum to tame flyaways, up top and underneath. Next add a few soft curls to your pony for volume and a little added style. If you have fringe this look is especially sweet and seductive.
Maybe you heard about rag curls from your grandmother or great-aunt. If not, we’ll give you a little lesson. Rag curls are a heat-free way to get soft pretty curls all over year crown. It’s a vintage approach, but one that’s stood the test of time. Rag curls are fairly simple you just need the following:
2 x 5 strips of fabric (taken from old clothing or sheets)
A comb
water
Next up follow these steps:
Start with wet hair. Either dampen with a spray bottle or work with fresh out-of-the-shower hair (pat with a towel and make sure it is evenly dry)
Take a small section of hair and twist it around one strip of fabric from the bottom to the top–don’t twist too tight, or it won’t dry.
Tie the fabric strip into place (under the curl) and repeat until all of your hair is rolled.
Now head to bed. You’ll want your curls to set overnight, so in the morning you’ll wake up with pretty waves. Note if you’re doing this for an evening outting, set your hair early in the day so they’re dry by night.
Gently untie the rags and spray a little LiQWd Professional Working Spray for hold. Et viola! Soft, beautiful curls and no heat damage.
Rather than don your daily ‘do, have some fun with your hair for the holiday tomorrow. We’ve picked out our top three Thanksgiving Day styles–each beautiful and simple to achieve (with some help from your trusty LiQWd products). The pouf, the top knot and the lose braid are our go-to’s for a spot on holiday look. Each style requires no more than a little patience, LiQWd Professional Working Spray, a few bobby pins and an elastic or two. That’s easier than grandma’s apple pie recipe!
You have so many things to be thankful for this year, consider your gorgeous locks one of them. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, LiQWd Lovers! xo
You didn’t want a complete makeover, but you wanted a little change, so you decided to “get bangs.” You thumbed through the fashion mags and decided how you’d style your tresses with your sleek new addition. Finally the day arrives and whether you cut them yourself or left the task to a trained professional, you look in the mirror and see your face outlined by a sad outline of “baby fringe.”
Your first instinct is to cry. Go ahead, we won’t judge. Now, dry your eyes and check out these tips for working with bangs that are wee bit too short:
-Make your bangs apart of a piece-y look. Apply some product from root to tip of the bad bang and twirl. This will hide any signs of wrong-doing.
-Try notching the bangs at various points with scissors by holding the scissors straight up and down and cutting. This makes the look seem intentional.
-Pull hair from farther back over the top of your bangs. If you’re bangs aren’t cut too far back, this could work perfectly to camouflage/add a little more length.
-Sweep your bangs to the side. Part your hair on the side where your bangs are the longest, and sweep the across your forehead. Or blow dry them to the side to try and eliminate them all together. Use bobby pins to secure. This works until they grow out to a desired length.
-Go to a stylist your trust (probably not the same one who botched your hair) and ask him or her to create a style that will hide the bad bangs.
Here’s the deal: you have a coffee meeting this Wednesday morning and it’s a pretty important happening. So, if you’re anything like us, you’ve been stressing over what to wear and what to do with you hair since you received that email confirming the meeting.
First off keep your look simple, but memorable. Pick a frock in a great rich color, pair it with some smashing (but muted) pumps and a chic accessory, then add some glasses so you look extra wise.
Now onto your hair. You want a look that’s sophisticated, but feminine; not too fussy and easy to put back in place should you get windblown. Our pick: a loose, low bun. We’ve highlighted this style in the past, but it’s fitting and such an easy go-to. Lauren Conrad has a great handle on this style whether she’s on the red carpet or out and about. For help obtaining this look employ LiQWd Longevity Serum for shine and manageability.
Lastly, good luck!
