Dear Curls,
We’ve decided to write you a little note today to tell you just how wonderful we think you are. We remember those early years when Mom made you look perfect–outfitting you with bows and barrettes. And let’s not forget when she fashioned you into those sweet pigtails. Oh memories.
When we entered our teenage years times were tough and we weren’t sure how the future would turn out. We did weird things to you like use tons of product (remember mousse) and scrunch you to no end. But you were patient with us. Even through the bad dye jobs, bad chemical straighteners and the times we just hid you in under a hat, you didn’t mind.
Now here we are years later and we’ve learned to appreciate you. Sure, sometimes we use the flatiron, but it doesn’t mean we love you any less. You’re a representation of our free spirit and our unique beauty. We’ve come to admire women like Julia Lewis-Dreyfus, Annalynne McCord and Beyonce, who wear their curls with pride.
We’re doing our part to treat you with the respect you deserve (SLiQWd and The Perfect Wave make you happy, we know). We’re looking forward to a long, happy, frizz-free life with you. Thank you for being gorgeous!
