Looks like one of Hollywood’s golden girls made a change over the holiday season. It’s Cameron Diaz! The bubbly blonde traded in her luxurious locks for a sporty, platinum cut. We can’t really tell how she’s going to style this look when it comes to working the red carpet, but we can say it looks pretty effortless and fun for a beach frolic. What do you think of Cameron’s new style?

Styles to Try in 2012

It’s a new year. That means it’s time for a new look, right? Or at least a little change. The upcoming year is full of exciting new styles to try. Think of it like this: 2012 hair takes some of the most iconic styles of the 20th century and refashions them to fit today’s woman. We’ve picked out a few of our favorites (and some of the most doable) looks to share with you. From the faux bob to the center part, the underlooped pony tail to the afro, this year promises to be an
adventure of hair from beginning to end.

Faux Bob:
The best thing about this pulled together ‘do is you don’t have to chop your locks to sport a high-fashion style bob. Channel the vintage vibe of Mad Men’s Betty Draper as you borrow from the 60’s with perfectly pinned and coiffed hair.

Rocakbilly Hair:
A homage to American style, these looks showed up on the catwalk last fall as a “must” for spring 2012. The look include bouffant pony and pigtails, poufs and lots of holding spray. The looks are dramatic, but can be toned down for everyday wear.

Side-pinned Waves:
This look grabs its inspiration from the thirties. It’s a simple combination of sexy waves and girlish accent. With a side-part, soft waves and a barrette pinned on one side the look is cool, easy to achieve and has the potential to turn you into a vintage vixen. Side-pinned waves are ideal for long hair, but work perfectly with short and mid-length cuts also.

Chignon with Side-waves:
The chignon is already a classy look and doesn’t require much dazzling, but pair it with a few loose side-waves. Another look that’s paired with a sweeping side part, requires you to leave some hair loose to create an effect with the hair–it’s a different look depending on the angle you view it from.
